Arabic courses:

Arabic Foundation/Arabic4Quran (A4Q1, 1.5 hours per week)

 

Prerequisites: there are no prerequisites for this course, and therefore no assumed knowledge is expected.
Course overview: 
* Letters of the Arabic language
* Basic phonetics (how letters sound)
* Formulation of letters in isolated form as well as joined form
* The course will also aim to establish a strong but basic foundation for vocabulary and easy-to-learn grammatical concepts

 
Arabic Level 1 (1.5 hours per week) -
 
Prerequisites: Arabic Foundation or Placement Exam
Course overview:
Reading, writing, speaking and listening skills that were introduced in the Arabic Foundation course.
* Students will build their vocabulary through context 
* The unit also includes texts, which discuss important socio-cultural issues
 
Arabic Level 2 (1.5 hours per week)- 
Pre-requisites: Arabic Level 1 or Placement Exam
Course overview: 
Listening, speaking, reading and writing, towards more sophisticated communication levels
This unit will also focus on developing reading comprehension and writing skills over a range of written registers and genres
 
Arabic Level 3 (1.5 hours per week)- 
Pre-requisites: Arabic Level 2 or Placement Exam
Course overview: 
* Increase vocabulary and understanding of advanced rules of Arabic grammar and morphology
* Engage in an intensive and extensive reading and analysis of Arabic texts from different genres, and attain an in-depth familiarity with formal and informal styles of writing and correspondence
 
Arabic 4 Deen (1.5 hours per week)- 
Pre-requisites: Arabic Level 2 or Placement Exam
Course overview: 
* In-depth study of tawheed, fiqh, tafseer, seerah in Arabic through study of Three Origins of Tawheed
* Engage in an intensive and extensive reading and analysis of Islamic books and lectures from different genres, and attain an in-depth familiarity with formal and informal styles of writing and correspondence
 
Quran courses: 
 
Arabic 4 Quran 1 (AFQ1, 1.5 hours per week)– 
 
* Letters of the Arabic language using classic method of teaching tajweed
* Basic phonetics (how letters sound)
* Formulation of letters in isolated form as well as joined form
* Beginner’s tafseer of chapter 30
 
A4Q2 (1.5 hours per week)–
 
* Tajweed rules level 1
* Continuation of tafseer
* Developing recitation, pronunciation ability
 
A4Q3 (1.5 hours per week)–
 
* Advanced level of teaching tajweed rules
* In-depth tafseer
* Correcting recitation
* Memorisation
 
Advanced Level (suitable for people who want to become tajweed teachers, 1.5 hours per week)–
 
* Sciences of Quran
* Tafseer
* Memorisation
* Tajweed teaching methods
 
Qaedah Al Nooraniyah for non-Arabic speakers (1.5 hours per week)
Qaedah Al Nooraniyah is the only authentic method that teaches how to read the Quran with Tajweed in an attractive way. It is a great learning tool for adults to improve their tajweed at a slow pace.
 
Qaedah Al Nooraniyah for Arabic speakers (1.5 hours per week)
Qaedah Al Nooraniyah is the only authentic method that teaches how to read the Quran with Tajweed in an attractive way. It is a great learning tool for adults to improve their tajweed at a faster pace.
 
Memorisation (1.5 hours per week)
Gradual memorisation program with tafseer and recitation.
